Music Academy The Hague is looking for volunteers!
MDH is not a subsidized music school. By limiting our costs where possible, we can keep the tuition fees for our students as low as possible. We are therefore very happy with our team of enthusiastic, music-loving volunteers. They provide important support services, such as staffing the reception desk. Their help is also extremely valuable to us in helping with events and ensuring that events run smoothly.
As a volunteer, you play an important role in further improving the daily functioning of the music academy. To this end, there is regular consultation between volunteers and management.
Our reception shifts are:
Monday to Friday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Saturday from 09:00 - 17:00

Music Academy The Hague (MDH) is a house full of music. Housed in a stunning 1927 Berlage-designed building on the Raamweg, we offer inspiring music education for any instrument and for students of all ages. Pleasure in making music is our top priority. Whatever your level or goals, and whatever place music occupies in your life, at MDH you will discover the music in yourself. We encourage students to experience the joys of playing music with others, and focus on “making music together.”
High quality music education All our teachers are experienced, versatile and highly qualified musicians and teachers who provide students with the knowledge and skills to achieve their personal goals. For particularly talented students, we have developed a special program to prepare for the entrance exams for conservatories and other professional courses. For us, high quality also means that we consider the technique of playing an instrument to be of essential importance; the greater the skill on one's instrument, the greater the pleasure of making music and the value you can add to ensemble playing!
Making music together As much fun as music lessons are, to increase your skill on an instrument you must of course practise. This is largely an individual process, but it doesn't have to be limited to that: it is often from playing with others that you can get the motivation to improve yourself - and making music together is one of the most wonderful experiences! Our music academy is therefore committed to encouraging every student to play together with others, be it in a duo, ensemble, orchestra or band. We provide possibilities for ensemble playing in-house or offer possibilities through our collaboration with various ensembles and organizations in the city.

Continuation form 2024-2025 There is a shortened registration form for students who are already registered (update 01-05-2024). Students enrolled in 2023-2024 will receive this form per email.
Early learning music courses for children Download the registration form and overview of Muziekland courses 2024-2025 (update 4-05-2024). Muziekland courses start in the week commencing Monday September 16th.
Continuation form 2023-2024 There is a shortened registration form for students who are already registered (update 16-05-2023). Students enrolled in 2022-2023 will receive this form per email.
Early learning music courses for children Download the registration form and overview of Muziekland courses 2023-2024 (update 8-05-2023). Muziekland courses start in the week commencing Monday 11 September 2023.
The form can be completed by computer and can be saved.
We do not provide a web form as signatures are required. Not all web browsers offer the option to fill in the form. Below is a method that almost always works. Please read the general terms and conditions before completing the form.
Our invoices are sent by email. We do everything we can to prevent these from being marked as spam, but that cannot be prevented completely, so ... check the spam box every now and then.

Payments Payment is required in advance of each semester, in two installments (end of August and end of January). In exceptional cases, payment can be made in four installments. We would appreciate it if you authorize us to collect the tuition fees by direct debit; if you don't want to pay by direct debit, do not fill in that section of the form. You will then receive invoices from us. If you do not pay by direct debit, € 10 administration costs will be charged per invoice. New registrations for instrumental or vocal lessons (year course A 1 to 7 and B1 and B2) pay a one-time registration fee of €15.
