Pop-piano
Javièr den Leeuw started taking piano lessons at the age of 9. Until he was 17, he took lessons with Patrick Hopper in The Hague. Patrick Hopper, a very passionate pianist/organist, has been an inspiring teacher for him: “His way of teaching has helped me a lot in finding my own way in teaching; the emphasis on the transfer of technique and at the same time stimulating the creativity of the student are central to my lessons. But I also pay personal attention to how I can help persevere during difficult moments in the learning process, so that the pleasure of making music always remains the most important motivation.”
Javièr studied at the Amsterdam Conservatory and graduated in 2018. Since then and during his studies he has been working in the music industry as a live/session musician and as a teacher.
After a lot of playing and touring experience with different bands and recording several albums, he is currently bass player in his own band Maida Rose and plays in the bands Silver Lake and Cosmic Crooner. He also does session and studio work as a bass player and keyboard player.
