Trevor Stuart Howe
Trevor Howe studied classical guitar with Bernhard Bielowski and John Della-Torre, then lute, archlute and theorbo with Tim Kersten in South Australia before joining The Royal Conservatory in The Hague in 2005 as a lute student where he was taught by Nigel North and Mike Fentross. He is founder and director of the early music ensemble Nova Hollandia and director of Virtuosi NL. He has also worked as a chef, and practices Tai Chi.
He is qualified to teach Philosophy, Politics and Music in Australia and, during his studies, has worked as a supply teacher for the BSN Senior School in Voorschoten. He is currently working on the educational needs of ex-pats in The Hague with the help of the international specialists of the Royal Conservatory. Virtuosi School of Music is Trevor’s vision and passion that provides excellence in music education as well as useful information, support and services for students, parents and colleagues. Trevor has taught R-12 music in Australia, Europe and Asia – most recently “Music in English” for Earlybirds at Primary Schools in Rotterdam. Trevor has worked closely with Virtuosi founder Tom Penn-Davies (AUS) since the school opened in Queensland in 2005. Tom has recognized Trevor’s dedication and generous care in supporting Virtuosi NL: “Trevor’s unique teaching method enables students to develop strong technical ability in addition to understanding and appreciation for music in a variety of styles. “I was always impressed by Trevor’s attitude to his work and I always got positive feedback from his students. Trevor Howe studeerde klassieke gitaar bij Bernhard Bielowski en John Della-Torre, vervolgens luit, aartsluit en theorbe met Tim Kersten in Zuid-Australië voordat hij in 2005 bij The Royal Conservatoire in Den Haag begon als luit student waar hij les kreeg van Nigel North en Mike Fentross. Hij is oprichter en directeur van het oude muziek ensemble Nova Hollandia en directeur van Virtuosi NL. Hij heeft ook gewerkt als chef-kok, en beoefent Tai Chi.
Hij is gekwalificeerd om Filosofie, Politiek en muziek te geven in Australië en heeft tijdens zijn studies gewerkt als docent bij de BSN Senior School in Voorschoten. Hij werkt momenteel bij het onderwijs voor expats in Den Haag met hulp van de internationale specialisten van het Royal Conservatoire. Virtuosi School of Music is Trevor’s visie en passie waar zowel excellentie in het muziekonderwijs als nuttige informatie, ondersteuning en diensten voor leerlingen, ouders en collega’s worden aangeboden.
