Kurt Berger graduated with honors from Humboldt State University in California, USA, in 1994. He played double bass and bass guitar in various orchestras, big bands and combos. He continued his studies for double bass in the Netherlands with Rudolf Senn and Hans Krul. In 1998 he obtained his Bachelor’s degree from the Royal Conservatory in The Hague with Peter Luit and in 1999 obtained the Master of Music Degree. He is a member of the RBO Sinfonia and also performs as a bass guitarist.
At the PC. Oranjeschool in Scheveningen, Kurt gives mini-bass lessons to 25 students from grade 4 to 6. He also gives private lessons and has been affiliated with Het Koorenhuis, the former music school in The Hague, as a teacher of double bass and mini-bass since 2002. He plays and substitutes with various orchestras, including the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, The Residentie Orchestra, RBO Sinfonia, Het Gelders Orkest and Het Orkest van Het Oosten.
