Caterina Bevegni

Harp

Caterina Bevegni, born in Genoa (IT) in 1991, is a harp player, harp teacher and project manager. Caterina obtained her “Classical Harp” Bachelors Diploma in 2014 from “Conservatorio Niccolò Paganini”, where she was awarded the European scholarship “Leonardo” for the project “WWM-Working With Music”, a prize awarded by the European Commission, which resulted in six-month internship at the Royal Conservatory in Den Haag, in the harp class of Ernestine Stoop and Methodology for Music Education of Julia Stegeman.

Because of the vibrant and stimulating environment, Caterina decided to stay in Den Haag and in September 2015 was accepted to the “NAIP – New Audiences & Innovative Practice” European Masters Program. During her Master’s, Caterina learned and developed skills aimed at leading/guiding, teaching, producing/managing and performing. She has therefore conducted music workshops in different contexts, such as for people with dementia, children and teenagers and vulnerable children, by following the basic philosophy of working together through “creative music making” which she has found applicable to any kind of group and community.

In the winter 2017, Caterina worked as a leader and facilitator, in the artistic production of an intensive teacher training program from El Sistema, Greece in Athens (supported by Impact Hub Athens) analyzing and developing the music lessons for children in refugee camps near Athens.

Between 2015 and 2018 she founded, managed and played in “The Odd7”, a contemporary music ensemble focused on exploring and experimenting with sounds and musical approaches, crossover art experiences and collaborative projects.

As a harp teacher, Caterina gave private lessons in Italy since 2008; there, she attended and trained several young harpists who studied at the Conservatory and prepared new students for their audition. In 2018, she joined the “Virtuosi Music School” in Den Haag, which was incorporated by Muziek Academy Den Haag a few years later.

Between 2018 and 2022, Caterina covered the role of Production Leader for Ciconia Consort, a vibrant and successful string orchestra based in Den Haag.

Caterina is currently working as Coordinator and Project Manager of the Ensemble Academy Master Specialization at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag, curating and producing all the aspects of music projects and activities of current Master’s students.
