Friends of MDH

Since its foundation, the Music Academy has developed into a respected institution in The Hague where music lessons and workshops are given and where a lively musical culture has emerged with ensembles, orchestras and public performances by the students. This is not only due to the inspiring leadership of director Maria Lewanski and the enthusiasm of the teachers, but also to the willingness and talent of the students and the help of the many volunteers who are active within the academy.

To support this team spirit and in the realization that the Music Academy is largely dependent on the help of volunteers, the Friends of the Music Academy The Hague Foundation was established a few years ago. The aim of the Friends Foundation is to provide help and assistance in the development of the Music Academy. The Friends Foundation strives to acquire financial resources to support the Music Academy in maintaining, replacing or acquiring the necessary instruments.

In addition, the Friends Foundation develops activities where possible to fulfill the ambitions of the Music Academy. For example, the Music Academy aspires to develop a fund that makes it possible for students from less well-off families to take lessons, and to set up a fund that enables gifted students to take extra lessons in order to be admitted to a conservatory. The functioning of these funds mainly depends on the financial support of friends and others who have a good heart for the Music Academy.

Most financial contributions consist of a periodic transfer from friends to the Friends Foundation. All your financial contributions, no matter how small, are welcome! By bundling all these contributions, the Friends Foundation can help the Music Academy even better. The most far-reaching contribution is a gift or bequest. If you contact the treasurer of the board of the Friends Foundation (see below), you will be helped to make such a donation or bequest possible. Others have already preceded you in this regard! Will you help?

A Newsletter is produced from time to time for the friends of the Music Academy The Hague and other interested parties. In addition to practical information about the state of affairs within the Music Academy and activities of the Friends Foundation, the newsletter also keeps you informed of developments within the Music Academy, such as special achievements by students, striking activities by teachers, concerts, performances and other musical events. . The Newsletter is available at the reception.

The Friends of the Music Academy The Hague Foundation is registered with the Chamber of Commerce under number TSIN 855030732. The board consists of 5 members. The members of the board do not receive any remuneration for their work.
