Quinten de Jongh

Drums

My name is Quinten de Jongh, and I am happy to share my passion for drums and music with you at the Music Academy The Hague (MDH). With a background in both classical and modern music, I want to pass on my experience and knowledge to aspiring drummers of all ages and levels.

My journey in music started at an early age, when I started taking cello lessons at the age of 7.

Under the guidance of Justa de Jong of the Residentie Orchestra, I developed a solid foundation in musicality and rhythm. At the age of 10 I started my journey of discovery on drums under the guidance of Hidde de Jong. Later, I continued my studies with Linda van Leeuwen, where I not only refined the technical aspects of drumming, but also deepened my understanding of how creativity and musicality come together.

My dedication to music led me to the Herman Brood Academy (2016-2019) and then to the Conservatory of Amsterdam (2019-2023), where I further deepened my passion for drumming and broadened my horizons.

During my teenage years I was active in several bands, and today I play in various groups.

As a teacher at the Music Academy, I want to inspire and guide my students on their own musical journey. Whether you are new to the world of drumming or want to hone your skills, I am here to help you grow and discover your own rhythmic voice and develop your creativity.

Besides teaching, I am currently involved in various musical projects. I am a regular member of Maida Rose (dream pop band), Cosmic Crooner (doo-wop space pop), and I am working on my own solo project called Klankspoor, in which I create modular live techno.

I look forward to getting started with you, drumming and discovering how, together, we can achieve your musical goals and explore the world of rhythm and music.
